Fire safety is one of the most critical aspects of home or business security. With a professionally installed fire detection system from Secure Alarm, you may be able to detect a fire soon enough to save lives. A trained member of the Secure Alarm team will be able to give you specific advice about the system that is most suitable for you.

Below is a brief description of the individual components of a fire alarm system that are required to ensure that your home or business premises are safe. It is necessary for a fire survey to be completed in order to cater for individual needs
.

Control panels

The control panel is the heart of a fire detection system, it communicates with the detection equipment, sounders and monitoring station to let you, your family or staff and the monitoring station know of the outbreak of a fire. There are many different types of the fire panel suitable for individual premises and circumstances, from basic control systems to fully functional addressable panels which can alert users to the whereabouts of a fire.

Sensors:

Sensors detect the presence of fire or environmental changes produced by the break out of a fire, such as smoke, rising levels of carbon monoxide or a rise in heat levels. When sensors are placed correctly, they will help the early detection of a fire, which could save your premises.

Sounders:

Sounders alert people of the current condition of the site allowing time to evacuate your premises. Sounders are available in standard sirens, or as a voice alarm systems which play a pre-recorded message upon detection of a fire.

Fire alarm monitoring:

Fire alarm systems can be connected to a BT phone line enabling signals to be sent to an off site monitoring station. Upon detection of a fire, the monitoring station will take the appropriate action. In 2002, British Standard BS5839 was amended and it is now highly recommended that certain premises have fire alarms that are connected to the alarm receiving centre.

Maintenance and service:

We offer a range of system cover, depending on individual conditions and level of cover selected. For more information, click the icon to the left.

Due to the nature of fire detection systems, it is recommended that a full fire survey is completed before a system specification can be completed.
